About LegacyCrest Capital

A privately held oil and gas investment firm providing accredited investors and family offices with direct access to carefully vetted U.S. energy opportunities.

Built on Experience, Driven by Conviction

LegacyCrest Capital was founded in 2016 by Jason L. Pickard after nearly a decade managing private equity investments in the oil and gas sector. Based in Plano, Texas, the firm was built on a simple premise: accredited investors deserve the same caliber of energy investment opportunities traditionally reserved for institutional players.

Our team brings hands-on experience across every facet of the energy value chain — from drilling operations and land management to midstream infrastructure and investor relations. This operational depth allows us to identify, evaluate, and structure opportunities that deliver both economic upside and tax efficiency.

We have deep roots in the Permian Basin — the most productive oil field in the United States. Our concentration in the Delaware Basin has given us strong geological knowledge, proven operator relationships, and a demonstrated ability to source off-market opportunities that larger firms overlook. Today, LegacyCrest is expanding its focus to include high-potential domestic natural gas plays, with an emphasis on opportunities where modern technology has been historically underapplied.

In 2017, recognizing a growing need for produced water infrastructure, Mr. Pickard formed Alpha SWD and Alpha Properties to acquire and develop salt water disposal assets. This expansion into midstream operations opened a second investment vertical for LegacyCrest — one that offers investors lower commodity price sensitivity and steady, fee-based revenue streams. The Permian Basin currently produces over 20 million barrels of produced water per day, projected to exceed 26 million by 2030 — as long as there is active production in the area, there is water that must be disposed of.

Today, LegacyCrest Capital manages both oil & gas drilling programs and salt water disposal facilities, and is actively evaluating its largest investment opportunity to date.

How We Invest

Our high-touch investment approach starts with understanding each investor's specific goals, constraints, and risk tolerance.

🎯

Selective Acquisition

We evaluate dozens of opportunities for every one we pursue. Our focus on the Delaware Basin — the most prolific region of the Permian — means we only invest where the geology, economics, and operators meet our standards.

🤝

Alignment of Interest

We evaluate every opportunity with the same rigor we would apply to our own capital. Where possible, we invest alongside our investors — creating true partnership, not just management fees.

📊

Transparency & Oversight

Investors receive comprehensive engineering analysis, regular production updates, financial reporting, and operational data transparency throughout the entire project lifecycle. Full visibility at every stage.

The LegacyCrest Difference

Our investment structures and operational approach are designed to maximize investor alignment, transparency, and long-term value creation.

Investor-Aligned Structures

Our oil & gas drilling programs are structured as Limited Partnerships (LPs) where unitholders hold direct working interest in professionally operated wells. Salt water disposal investments are structured as LLCs. In both cases, investors receive direct economic participation — not passive royalty positions or packaged drilling funds.

Aligned Interests

We believe in every opportunity we bring to investors. Where possible, we invest our own capital alongside our LPs and LLC members. Every deal passes the same rigorous due diligence we would apply to our own money — because our reputation depends on each project we represent.

Off-Market Deal Flow

Through years of midstream and operator relationships forged across the Permian Basin, our team has cultivated access to off-market investment opportunities that larger firms overlook. This proprietary deal flow gives our investors access to high-quality projects before they reach the broader market.

Institutional Oversight

Comprehensive engineering analysis, financial controls, and operational data transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Our investors receive regular updates and full visibility into every stage of operations.

Direct Participation

Investors participate directly in the economics of each project through working interest ownership in wells operated by top-tier operators — not diluted exposure through pooled funds or intermediary vehicles.

Long-Term Revenue Focus

Our strategy is aligned toward optimizing reserve recovery and maximizing total returns — not artificially inflating early production. We structure for sustainable value creation over the life of the asset.
